Standard Classes: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm each day

Driver Awareness Program: 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Course 100
30 Hours of top quality classroom instruction is provided in just two weekends. Parents attend a Teaching Your Teen to Drive session and students, 15 & up, without permits take the State Written Exam for their licenses. This most affordable program does not include scheduled lessons with CDI. Parents, friends or relatives typically provide driving instruction when it is convenient for the family. CDI will assist parent/coaches with any needs or questions as they may arise (you can always choose to purchase driving instruction from CDI at a later date if needed). This is an ideal course for students whose insurance companies provide a Driver's Education Insurance Discount (call your agent! Note: some discount programs require up to 6hrs of behind-the-wheel training). Follow-Up option: BrushUp-Auto

Course 400
Level-I: Traffic School: 4hrs or 8hrs of Classroom Education

Course Credit: Various Courts, Employers, Educational Institutes, and Insurance Companies will give credit for this course. Check with the appropriate authority to verify your options.

Goals & Objectives: The majority of court-ordered offenders are basically good drivers most of the time-who make a mistake once in a while. However, this same situation is what causes tickets, and kills people all too often. This course of study is designed to remind you of the details and level of attention necessary to minimize complacency and prevent accidents.

Time Requirements: Four (4) or eight (8) hours of required class attendance is the standard. The court establishes a student time requirement if a traffic violation is the cause of attendance.

Participation: All participants should engage in class-discussions and view all videos. You will attend classes with new drivers and are expected to share your experiences with these inexperienced students.

Attendance: All students must be in attendance in the classroom for the entire specified time-requirement, to receive a certificate.

Textbooks: All students are given the AAA Text, Managing Visibility, Time & Space--an excellent "Risk Management" book, The Colorado Driver Handbook, and other relevant materials.

BTW-Auto
Student Behind-The-Wheel Training: Automatic Transmission Only
Three two-hour training segments, while driving our dual-control vehicles, the student progresses from residential driving to city driving, and finally onto interstate highways. Progress will depend on the amount of practice and level of skill developed between lessons.

See: BEHIND-THE-WHEEL (BTW): What We Teach During Our Driving Lessons

BTW-Clutch
Student Behind-The-Wheel Training: 2 Hours of Clutch Training
This course does a great job of preparing the student for driving any car! Three two-hour training segments using an automatic transmission, and one two-hour training segment using a manual transmission provide a wide range of skill development challenges that fully prepares the student for many common and uncommon road conditions. Development of the additional skill for using a clutch to change gears is a natural and logical extension of the skill sets learned in other BTW sessions.

BrushUp-Auto
2hrs Behind-The-Wheel Brush-Up/Follow-Up Training: Automatic Trans. Only
This brush-up course provides clear evaluation and assessment of the general driving skills of the licensed driver. We provide practice and opportunity to review any and all basic driving skills while driving in a variety of traffic situations. In this two-hour training segment, while driving our dual-control vehicles, drivers receive direction and guidance for facing specific challenges, from residential driving to city driving, as well as interstate highways. We customize this lesson to emphasize what the driver wants and needs. As a follow-up course we can include a Sample BOST (Basic Operating Skills Test). This course is ideal for Course 100 students.

BrushUp-Clutch
2hrs Behind-The-Wheel Follow-Up Training: Manual Transmission Only
This course is designed to train any driver in a two-hour training segment, to successfully use a clutch without stalling, and to move through a standard shift pattern associated with a manual transmission. Particular emphasis is given to downshifting, holding one's position on a hill, creeping, and hill starts.

Defensive Driving is still a valid strategy but assessing risk and managing one’s space and time is critical for today’s overcrowded highways. AAA textbooks are included. This course also qualifies Senior Operators for Insurance Discounts, as required by State Law.
