BEHIND THE WHEEL, CLASSROOM, AND BOST TEST POLICY & CONTRACT INFORMATION

Welcome to Colorado Driving Institute and thank you for choosing us. We are one of Colorado's top rated driving schools, and we use AAA Textbooks. CDI is state approved and BOST certified. Our course curriculum, training, and testing is "Approved and regulated by the Division of Motor Vehicles". This letter contains policy and contract information for our Behind The Wheel , Classroom, and Basic Operators Skills Test. Please review all of the information, sign, and return it to CDI either by fax, E-mail, snail mail, or drop off at class on class day , or before the first scheduled BTW lesson.

Students: To optimize teen driving safety, we believe that co-coaching with parents is the most effective way to teach teens to drive. CDI does not guarantee nor imply that any student will acquire the necessary skills to obtain a Colorado State Drivers License. Results depend upon student effort and practice time with a license carrying Adult age 21 or older. A minimum of 4 hours of practice time is encouraged between each of the 2 hour drive lessons. CDI will not certify that the student meets our safety requirements when a student's Behind the Wheel skills are not equal to or superior to that of an average teenage driver; Instructors may request additional lessons for a CDI certificate.

Certificates of Completion: Certificate of completion is issued only after the student has successfully completed all hours required for a class and/or all lesson requirements. Also, all fees must be paid in full; services are not transferable and expire one year after registration.

CLASSROOM: The 30-hours/4-hours of classroom consist of a core curriculum approved by the State of Colorado. To assure that each student gets the full benefit of the course content, we have outlined the following rules.

If extenuating circumstances exist (i.e. military activation, death of immediate family member, or a serious medical condition) a student/parent may submit a Refund Request Form with supporting documentation to the Boulder Office. Submitting a refund request does not always result in an approval for a refund.

Bad Weather Policy: We drive and hold classes in bad weather and at night. However, extreme weather conditions may create high-risk situations. If an         accident alert is in effect at training location, CDI or a parent may cancel the lesson. If CDI or a parent cancels a lesson due to accident alert, no cancellation fee will be applied. The student or legal parent/guardian will need to call the office to reschedule.

BTW Safety & Insurance Requirements: Safety--Driving is the most dangerous event anyone does on a regular basis. Although driver's education insurance rates are among the lowest, and accidents are far below average, CDI cannot guarantee anyone's safety while driving an automobile.

According to Colorado Primacy, non-owner operators must look to their own medical insurance, in the event of an accident. Now that no fault insurance is         gone in Colorado, be sure to check with your Auto Insurance Agent and with your Healthcare Provider, about vehicle accident benefits.

You and your student may rest assured that the training and information given in this course is updated, and among the best available anywhere. We trust your experience will be fun, interactive, and of great value.
